City Council to Discuss Proposed Planned Mixed Use District Amendments

The Dacula City Council will discuss proposed amendments to the city's planned mixed used development ordinance during its Dec. 29 work session.

Earlier this month, and eventually developing the property as a “live, work, play” community.

One problem affecting the potential development is that the city’s current planned mixed used development ordinance is more restrictive than what investors would like. Mitch Peevy of Mill Creek Consulting asked council to consider working with the investment group to modify the ordinance and establish parameters that would make the site attractive to developers.

Other items on Thursday night's agenda include:

  • REZONING APPLICATION: Case # 2011-CD-RZ-02. Applicant: Lloyd deLatour, Owner: Dacula Design Group, LLC requests rezoning from OI Office – Institutional District to AG Agricultural District for a 2.5 acre portion of the subject property.    The Property is located in the 5th District, Land Lot 298, Parcel Number 004 and contains 2.50 acres more or less.
  • Discussion of rebidding the New Maintenance Building.
  • Recertify City of Dacula Ethics Ordinance.
  • Adopt the Georgia Municipal Employees Benefit System Restated Defined Benefit Retirement Plan Adoption Agreement for the City of Dacula.
  • Appoint Mayor Pro-Tem for 2012
  • Mayor’s 2012 Committee Appointments
  • Appoint Planning and Zoning Board Members for 2012.    
  • Certification of 2011 Election Runoff Results –December 6, 2011
  • Member Comments/Questions
