Parking Lot Parties, Park Name on Council Agenda

On Thursday, May 3, the Dacula City Council will attempt to reach a consensus regarding what the .

Names under consideration include Memory Park, Patriot Depot, Tradition Park, Falcon Plaza, Chinquapin Grove Park and Dacula Traditions Park. 

Council will also vote on a proposed amendment to the city’s zoning resolution. The amendment would place additional restrictions on temporary outdoor uses such as events held in the parking lots of city businesses.

Other items on Thursday’s council agenda include:

  • A request to rezone a 4.28-acre piece of property on Harbins Road from single family residential to office institutional. The 1,500-square-foot home will be used as a personal care facility. The facility will house up to 10 patients. The planning department has recommended approval for the zoning request.
  • Authorizing the city to continue to participate with Gwinnett County in the community development block grant (CDBG) program.
