Dacula City Council to Discuss Ordinance, Gazebo

Proposed revisions to Dacula's planned mixed use development ordinance and construction of a new gazebo will be discussed at Thursday's Dacula City Council work session.

City officials have been in an effort to to facilitate the annexation and development of 157 acres into the city limits. Representatives from Walton Investing, Mill Creek Consulting and Rochester Engineering Associates are . 

Council members will also discuss plans to construct a gazebo on city property at Second Avenue and Wilson Street. The gazebo will replace the one that was once located near the railroad tracks in downtown Dacula. The city was forced to demolish the gazebo in June 2009 due to its encroachment on the CSX railroad right-of-way.

Also on the Jan. 26 agenda is a discussion of proposed amendments to the City of Dacula fine schedule as relates to the Marshal's Department.

The work session will begin at 7 p.m. at Dacula City Hall, 442 Harbins Road.
