Gwinnett County Still Impacted by Snow Jam 2014

Updated Inclement Weather Update from Gwinnett County:

Gwinnett County is experiencing inclement weather at this time. In general, Gwinnett County Government offices will be open during normal business hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday, January 30, however, some offices may delay opening or be closed due to weather conditions in specific areas. You may want to call the office you plan to visit before leaving home.

Road Closing and Bus Service Changes

• Ronald Reagan Parkway is closed until further notice. In general, roads are hazardous and drivers are urged to stay off the roadways if possible.

• Gwinnett County Transit: Gwinnett County Transit suspended all bus service on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. GCT will not run express service on Thursday, January 30, 2014, and, subject to road conditions, will start all local routes at noon. Paratransit service will be limited to scheduled dialysis trips only.  Please check the Gwinnett County Transit website at www.gctransit.com or call GCT Customer Service at 770.822.5010 for up-to-date schedule information.

Delays/Closings/Cancellations   

• All Gwinnett County administrative offices will open at 8:00am on Thursday, January 30, 2014.

•  Gwinnett trials and hearings are cancelled on Thursday, January 30, 2014.

• All Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Offices will delay opening until noon on Thursday, January 30, 2014.

• Senior Services' home-delivered meals will be delayed by two hours on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Drivers' hours will be adjusted to make deliveries to all areas that are passable.

• Buford, Lawrenceville, and Norcross Senior Service Centers will be closed on Thursday, January 30, 2014.

• The following agencies at the Norcross Human Services Center have announced plans for Thursday, January 30, 2014. Please call the agency you wish to visit to verify hours: 

• Gwinnett County Health Department Clinic will be closed.

• Norcross Head Start Pre-K will be closed.

• View Point Health will open at 10:30am.

• Four Corners Primary Care Centers will be open at 8:00am, unless roads worsen.

• Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation will delay opening Collins Hill Park Aquatic Center and West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center until 9:00am on Thursday, January 30, 2014, for lap swim and other programs. All other sites and programs will open and operate during normal hours.

• Gwinnett Juvenile Court's evening classes at the detention center are cancelled for Thursday, January 30, 2014.

• Trash and recycling collection in unincorporated Gwinnett County was delayed by one day due to the inclement weather. If your normal collection day is Wednesday, it will be collected on Thursday. If Thursday is your collection day, it will be collected on Friday. Friday's normal collection will take place on Saturday. If your trash and recycling was not collected on Tuesday, it will be collected on Thursday. Gwinnett residents who live inside city limits should check with their city for the status of their trash service.
