The council seats currently held by Sue Robinson and will be filled during the election. Robinson qualified Wednesday afternoon and will not face any opposition during the election. Montgomery, however, will have two challengers.

His first challenger, local political activist Vanessa Hall Green, qualified on Aug. 30. On her Facebook campaign page, Green describes her values as “solidly conservative and Christian.”

Montgomery’s other challenger, Hubert Wells, is a former Dacula city councilman and mayoral candidate. According to Dacula Elections Superintendent Kay Partain, Wells challenged Montgomery in 2007 and lost the race by just five votes.

The Dacula municipal election will be held Nov. 8. In addition to the two council races, city residents will also decide whether to allow within the city limits.
