Multi-Purpose Field Approved for Harbins Park

Major improvements will soon be under construction at .

A $5.9 million project will add a multi-purpose football/soccer/lacrosse field on the Indian Shoals Road side of the park. The facilities will include bleachers, a concession/restroom building and a lighted walking track. According to a county press release, park improvements will also include a pavilion, playground, dog park, 3-acre lake and a 1.5 mile long paved trail through the lowlands adjacent to Cedar Creek.

The improvements, funded by the 2009 SPLOST, were approved along with the $9.6 million expansion of . , a trail extension, a concession/restroom building, seven baseball/softball fields, a multi-purpose field with a lighted walking track, playgrounds and a six-acre lake.  The project also includes road improvements at Hurricane Shoals and Rabbit Hill Road.
