Way to waste a little more taxpayer money on the way out the door, Mike. Obviously, you learned nothing from this loss.

Congrats Tommy ! I wish you the best .

Just to amplify MK a bit here, when he states “I wish you the best” above Tommy, he MEANS that going forward, the "you" includes "us chickens" out here too… Besides your campaign managed to flip one vote while it was in a lockbox, now THAT’s an impressive start to swinging EVERYONE over… (Smiles)

I can let loose now . WOOOO HOOOOO !!! Thanks to all the dedicated voters that came back out to send a message loud and clear , ignore us and we shall ignore you ! And the best message of all is YES indeed your vote really does matter . Tommy's Town hall has a good ring to it .

Ed...every once in a while you have a good point that is well thought out that makes sense. This isn't one of those times.
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 01:39 AM
M.K. It's not sour grapes but there is no message sent here. So few voters turned out that neither candidate could really claim any mandate. But you are correct..hopefully the every vote counts case has been made to everyone.
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 01:44 AM
Happy for you J. Mean that..understand the feeling of putting months of long hot work in and it paying off. 2004 was incredible. What's also a wierd feeling is the day after the runoff. You go full throttle for weeks and then in an instant the work stops on a dime. btw...one thing I strongly remember about the get together at Mike's house after the runoff win was one person who was there besides Mike. Probably 200 people there but one stands out - Melvin Everson. Melvin had lost a primary race for a house seat by about as few of votes as Mike did. Yet, there he was just a few weeks later supporting a friend. I could tell that he enjoyed the celebration but at the same time it was so very very hard to experience too. It was just one of the exponentially numerous times I've seen Melvin demonstrate character. Quality man.

Floyd - Did Mike have any ambitions as to what's next for him? I'd like to see his skill used to better the area.
Mike Korom August 29, 2012 at 02:00 AM
Congratulations again Tommy!
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 02:10 AM
Just to be open...I haven't talked with him about it. Despite what the small handfull of people here have posted about him, Mike is a top quality guy. In the short/medium term he will be heading up the Romney/Ryan campaign in this area. Best possible choice.

Floyd is was a fun but at the same time it was a huge sacrifice on me and my family. I can't imagine what the candidates go through. Really all I did was knock on doors every day just about for three months. Then I was excited Tommy made the run-off, but at the same time I was like dang not again....LOL I couldnt stop though I knew Tommy was the man for the job plus I was addicted to the cause! I wish I had a dollar for every door that was slammed in my face...... It was hard to smile and walk away. I'll tell you what when you get back from Virginia maybe me and you and Tommy can go catch some lunch or something. Congrats again Tommy!
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 03:11 AM
Yeah...I hear ya...it is an enormous sacrifice. I'm serious in having respect for everyone that decides to run simply because of the personal cost. Not certain when I will get back from VA. Coming back for labor day for 3 days but the project that was going to end in November is now going to be until at least April. But don't take that as complaint about having a job...NO WAY. If I'm going to be here that long I'm registering here in VA so I can vote for Romney where he needs it. Have a good holiday!

Finally mike the sleaze is out. The last of the crooked bannister administration. Now lets clean out the rest of the court house with its crooked judges , porter , and conman conway. Maybe then Gwinnett will be in a more respectable position.
American Patriot August 29, 2012 at 06:26 PM
Let's hope he has lost his desire for politics. He would do more harm then good if he was elected to a higher position. I could go on for ever about it but I won't because I don't want to kick a man while he is down. I'll keep my powder dry until the day I see him trying to get involved again. Unless of course he is running as a democrat which is what I think he truly is.
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 09:55 PM
American "patriot"...one day I bet you'll post something that makes sense. Please give us her fair warning so we don't miss it.
Floyd Akridge August 29, 2012 at 09:58 PM
Ex...you have to be one of the massively uninformed crowd. You had to be in a barrel up in Niagara to think there was any connection between Mike and Bannister. That is an absolute riot.
American Patriot August 29, 2012 at 10:07 PM
Oh Floyd I am sure one day I'll be able able to post as well as you do. Seems like all those great posts you posted really and helped your guy.... In my opinion you did much more harm to him then anyone else.
M.K. OSBORNE August 29, 2012 at 11:15 PM
Town hall with Tommy !! I like the sound of that . doesn't take a mandate to send a message. Did i mention WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO !!
M.K. OSBORNE August 29, 2012 at 11:17 PM
Heck count them again ! who knows this time Tommy may get 58 .
R++ One of the Famous Dacula Crew September 08, 2012 at 04:40 AM
crooked bannister ADMINISTRATION... Which means they served on the BoC at the same time, hence there is a CONNECTION between them. They may not have bought each other candlelight dinners with wine, but they sure talked plenty "trash" together anyways ... @Floyd we miss ya buddy. While solemnly remembering the passing of those near to you and your family...
