Sunday Sales Pass in Gwinnett

Retailers in unincorporated Gwinnett will now be allowed to sell beer and wine on Sundays.

Just as voters in many Gwinnett cities did last November, county residents voted to allow beer and wine sale on Sunday in the unincorporated parts of Gwinnett County.

The Sunday sales referendum passed by a large margin with over 67 percent of voters approving the measure. In total, 48,721 voted in favor of allowing Sunday sale and 22,625 voted against during the March 6 referendum.

Dacula was one of several Gwinnett County cities that approved Sunday sales last November. Other cities putting the issue before the voters included Loganville, Lilburn, Suwanee, Auburn, Braselton, Lawrenceville, Snellville, Berkeley Lake, Duluth, Grayson, Sugar Hill and Norcross. All voted to allow Sunday sales.

According to a , the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution last November authorizing June 1 as the start date for Sunday sales meaning June 3 will be the first Sunday on which retail package sales will be allowed.
