The Dacula City Council will meet Thursday night to discuss two items.

The first, the Williams Farm Drive asphalt base reclamation and replacement, will address a road City Administrator Jim Osborn described as “probably among the worst and most deteriorated in the city.” Approximately 2,170 linear feet of roadway will be re-paved during the project.

“Because it’s so broken up, I can go out there in the midsection of this stretch of road and I can just pull up chunks of asphalt,” Osborn said.

Osborn estimated an asphalt re-topping would only have lasted about three years whereas the new project will provide at least 15 years of use. Williams Drive is about 20 years old and has never been repaved, Osborn added.
