Work Progressing on New Traffic Signal

A turn lane has been added on Jim Moore Road as part of the project.

UPDATED July 11 at 9:20 a.m.

Turn lane striping is now complete at the intersection of Jim Moore Road and Braselton Highway. The striping is part of a traffic light installation project that began June 12.

In a June email to Dacula Patch, Gwinnett County Department of Transportation (GDOT) Director Kim Conroy indicated crews would begin building the signal span once paving and striping at the intersection is complete.

According to Chuck Bailey, Traffic Engineering & Planning Division Director for GDOT, the light should be placed into operation next week.

"While the rain had definitely slowed the construction and installation we are still scheduled to activate the traffic signal during the week of July 15th," Bailey wrote in an email to Dacula Patch. "The traffic signal is tentatively scheduled to be placed into flashing operation by the end of the week and activated into full operation by next Thursday (July 18th)."
