County Schools in Session Monday

Feb. 21 originally scheduled as a holiday, but will now be a snow make-up day. County offices will be closed for the President's Day holiday.

Gwinnett County Public Schools will be in session Monday.

Feb. 21 had orginaly been scheduled as a student holiday, but will now be a snow make-up day. Two other student holidays, March 14 and May 26, have also been canceled and will be used as make-up days.

GCPS students . Only three make-up days are built into the calendar. School officials have yet to decide when the other two missed days will be rescheduled.

According to a post on the GCPS Facebook page, a decision on when the remaining two days will be made up is expected in mid-March. At that time, information about graduation also will be available.

Though schools will be in session, Gwinnett County government offices, except those required for the comfort and safety of the citizens, will be closed Monday in observance of the Presidents Day holiday. Regular working hours will resume on Feb. 22.

According to a Gwinnett press release, a Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on Feb. 21.

The holiday will not affect trash and recycling. Haulers will follow the normal pickup schedule.
