Dacula Dash 5K Run/Walk and 1K Fun Run to Benefit PTA, Running Club

Dacula Elementary partnering with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to promote healthy lifestyle for students, family and the Dacula community.

On March 24, Dacula community members are invited to take part in the Dacula Dash 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Fun Run.

The Dacula Dash, hosted by the PTA in partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is part of an effort to promote a healthier lifestyle for students, their families and the Dacula community.

“It is our hope this race will encourage the city of Dacula and surrounding area to get moving and in shape utilizing the great parks we have here in Dacula and Gwinnett,” wrote Kimberly Thompson, Dacula PTA member, in an email to Dacula Patch.

According to Thompson, the Dacula Dash was inspired by physical education teacher for elementary students.  Tucker’s club is offered at no cost to students.

“Each year he spends his time twice a week from the end of February until the end of May helping a group of 200 students train for the Peachtree Junior and the Dacula Memorial Day race,” Thompson wrote.
