Key to Success: The butterfly stroke is often considered to be the most challenging of the swim strokes, but for Dacula High School senior Megan Heller, it was something that she took to with ease. As a freshman for the Falcons, Heller stuck to the breaststroke, but was introduced to the butterfly as she entered her sophomore year and that same year qualified for state. As the current record holder at Dacula, Heller says she is proud her name is on the record sheets that are given to each new swimmer when they make the team. But it’s not just record breaking performances in the pool that make Heller a stand out student. She’s a member of the Dacula Leadership team, which takes in lessons from leaders throughout Gwinnett County and then relays them back to the Dacula community. Heller maintains a 3.5 GPA and plans to swim in college at either Georgia Southern University or Berry College.
