Dacula Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Trent Jarrett

Mill Creek High School senior spreads his passion for gymnastics.

Each week, Dacula Patch seeks suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. Here’s a look at this week’s nominee.

Trent Jarrett

Senior, Mill Creek High School

Accomplishment: Trent Jarrett is a life-long gymnast who will be attending University of Illinois at Chicago next year as a member of the men’s team. The Mill Creek student is currently helping to teach young gymnasts in Gwinnett County.

Key to Success: For Mill Creek senior Trent Jarrett, gymnastics has always been a part of his life. He has been participating the sport and involved in competitions for the past 15 years. As a member of the Roswell Men’s Gymnastics club team, Jarrett has been able to travel all over the country to compete. The Mill Creek standout student will be attending University of Illinois at Chicago next year and will be a member of the Flames’ men’s gymnastics team. Currently, Jarrett is helping teach youth gymnastics at Gymnastix Training Center in Buford and says helping the younger gymnasts has become a passion for him.

“I love coaching the little kids,” he said. “I definitely see myself after college coming back and coaching a little bit just because I love the sport.”
