Dacula Middle School FBLA dominates competitions while helping the community.

Each week, Dacula Patch seeks suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. Here’s a look at this week’s nominee.

Key to Success: Through the leadership of teacher Keri Beth Tidmore and the support of principal Dr. Kellye Riggins, the Future Business Leaders of America at Dacula Middle School has become one of the top chapters of the club in Georgia. As the first chartered middle level chapter in Gwinnett County, Dacula’s FBLA has seen its members consistently at the top of the state’s ranks with the last three middle level candidates of the year coming out of Dacula.

On top of the awards and accolades the club has received, the FBLA also contributes to service projects throughout the year. Some projects the club has taken part in this year included making autumn-themed crafts for a local nursing home, a can drive for the Hebron Food Pantry and a clothes drive to donate winter clothing to charity. Coming up for the FBLA is an event in which the members will tie-dye pillows and bandanas for children suffering from cancer.
