DiFilippo Named Principal at Dyer ES

will soon have a new principal at the helm.

On Oct. 1, Michael DiFilippo will replace retiring current principal Donna Torbush.

DiFilippo’s appointment was announced during the Gwinnett County Board of Education’s September meeting.

DiFilippo has served as assistant principal at Pharr Elementary since 2006. From 1998-2006, DiFilippo was a mathematics specialist and fifth grade teacher at Meadowcreek Elementary.

Prior to joining Gwinnett County Public Schools, DiFilippo taught fifth and seventh grades at Saint Anthony’s School in New York.

DiFilippo has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the State University of New York College at Fredonia, a master’s degree in middle school mathematics and science from Brenau University and a specialist’s degree in educational leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. DiFilippo was also a participant in GCPS’ 2011 Quality Plus Leader Academy.
