Dacula Remembers 9/11

A service project and special remembrance ceremony is planned in Dacula on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Mill Creek student Charles Orgbon, founder of Greening Forward, has organized a litter pick-up and a remembrance service to honor those who died during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Volunteers will gather in the  parking lot at 5 p.m. and will then pick up trash along Second Avenue from the school to in Historic Downtown Dacula.

At 6 p.m., the remembrance ceremony will begin. Guest speakers include  and other local dignitaries. Mill Creek band members are also scheduled to perform.

As part of the ceremony, volunteers will plant a tree in front of Olde Mill Park as a living tribute to the victims of 9/11.
