Hebron Baseball Players Drafted to Major Leagues

Reds and Marlins draft baseball players from Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula.

Two graduates and baseball players from Hebron Christian Academy and the Lion Baseball Program were drafted into the 2012 Major League Draft.

Left-handed pitcher Mason Felt was drafted in the fifth round by the Cincinnati Reds and right-handed pitcher and third baseman Jordan Hillyer was drafted in the 20th round by the Miami Marlins. These players have also received scholarships to play baseball at the collegiate level, Hillyer with Kennesaw State and Felt with Oregon State.

The Hebron Lion baseball team won their third straight GHSA region championship, going undefeated in region play in 2012. Graduating senior second baseman PJ Westbury was selected to play in the Senior All State Game at Columbus State College and the following seniors were selected to play in the Gwinnett County All Star Baseball Game at Coolray Field: Mason Felt, Jordan Hillyer, Tyler Hutch and PJ Westbury. Heath Kennedy, head coach for the Lions, was named All Region 8 Coach of the Year.
