Mill Creek, Mountain View Seniors Named Gates Millenium Scholars
The students will receive a full scholarship for their entire college career to the school of their choice.
Twelve Gwinnett County Public School seniors were selected as Gates Millenium Scholars. Five students currently attend Mountain View High School and one will graduate from Mill Creek High School. The winners will receive a full scholarship to the college of their choice for each academic year.
The students and their intended college are:
- Yong Lee, Mill Creek High School, Harvard University
- Victor Mata, Mountain View, University of Georgia
- Hannah-Dulya Menelas, Mountain View, Cornell University
- Adrianne Osorio, Mountain View, University of Georgia
- Nyles Pollonais, Mountain View, Georgia Southern University
- Yonas Takele, Mountain View, Yale University
The group of 12 is the largest ever selected from Gwinnett County. They were chosen for their high academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities and family financial need.

The program is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and administered by the United Negro College Fund.
Representatives from the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program will honor the students, their families and counselors on Friday, May 10 in Suwanee.
