Mill Creek Students to Compete in International Science Fair

Dacula middle and high school students competing this weekend to advance to Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Three students have earned a spot in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair to be held May 8-13 in Los Angeles.

He Sun Kim, Sunyoung Wang and Guillermo Bautista along with Danish Singh from the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology and Aprotim Bhowmik  of Parkview High have secured places in the international competition. Kim, Wang and Bautista advanced with their physics and astronomy project. All five students qualified for the international competition based on their high rankings during the regional challenge in February.

Several students and one student hope to join Kim, Wang, Bautista, Singh and Bhowmik at the Los Angeles competition.

Andrew Ford of Dacula Middle School and Antal Brito, Andrew Monsalve, Phil Thornton, Patrick Lennon and Hayley Arrowood of Dacula High School will compete at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair in Athens this weekend for a chance to advance to the international challenge.

In total, Gwinnett County Public Schools will be represented in this weekend’s fair with 13 middle school projects and 36 high school projects from schools including Bay Creek Middle, Dacula Middle, Lanier Middle, McConnell Middle, Shiloh Middle, Summerour Middle, Trickum Middle, Collins Hill High, Dacula High, Duluth High, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Mill Creek, Norcross High, Parkview High and Peachtree Ridge High.
