Mill Creek High School Tops GCPS, State Average on SAT

Archer, Dacula and Mountain View exceeded state average, but fell below GCPS average.

Students in the class of 2013 at Mill Creek High School fared, on average, better than their counterparts statewide and in Gwinnett County Public Schools.

As a whole, GCPS test takers topped state and national averages on all sections of the test with an average composite score of 1513 -- the combined total of the average critical reading score of 505, the average mathematics score of 518 and the average writing score of 490. The highest possible composite score is 2400.

The 1513 average composite score for GCPS students is 15 points above the national average of 1498 and 61 points above the Georgia average of 1452. 

In the Dacula area, Mill Creek High School had the highest average composite score at 1546.  Dacula students averaged 1499 while Archer and Mountain View students had an average composite score of 1453 and 1496 respectively.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Public Schools, GCPS student participation on the SAT has increased 28 percent over the past three years.
