Young Soccer Striker Eager to Learn

Player Ashley Johnson is only seven years old, but she is showing great potential on the field.

“She has a great attitude and is eager to learn,” Johnson’s coach Allen Sumrell said.

In U7 soccer at Dacula Soccer Club, the young players learn to play all positions. But starting around age seven, they tend to show signs of excelling in certain positions. This season, Johnson has excelled as striker.

“She has had several goals and assists this season,” Sumrell said.

While Johnson has scored several goals herself, the number of assists she has also made shows that she understands that soccer is a team sport.

“Ashley is definitely a team player,” Sumrell added. “She is a very hard player that demonstrates team work.”
