In Gwinnett County, the Gwinnett Braves will be holding their annual on Saturday (March 5) at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, near I-85. While the players are honing their skills at spring training, fans can get a taste of the park and the atmosphere.

There will be a National Anthem contest to start the day. Individuals and groups can audition for the opportunity to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" at a Gwinnett Braves home game.

Then the fan activities start at 11:30 a.m. Former Braves pitcher and Baseball Hall of Fame member Phil Niekro, a Gwinnett resident, will be among the athletes on hand to sign autographs. Also, people will be able to run the bases and shag fly balls in the outfield. Merchandise will be available, and fans can buy tickets for the season.

This will be the third season in Gwinnett for the Atlanta Braves' top minor-league affiliate. The team previously played in Richmond, VA.
