Dacula High School Football Hosting Youth Camps and Coaching Clinics

Head coach Jared Zito tells us what he has in store for our future Falcon football players.

The football program will be hosting youth camps and coaching clinics in June and July. Falcons head coach Jared Zito is excited about this program because he believes it is a great opportunity for young players to see what it will be like to play at the high school level.

“We want to continue to build the bridge from the DAA (Dacula Athletic Association) to Dacula High School football and foster that relationship by providing the players with the opportunity to be a part of our program at a young age,” Zito explained. “We also want to continue to foster the relationship between the DAA coaches and the Dacula High School coaches by providing them with free coaches’ clinics.”

Along with building relationships and encouraging enthusiasm for the sport of football, these camps have multiple purposes.

“We want all youth players to be on our campus with our coaches and players in the camp so they want be a Dacula Falcon and a part of our program as a ninth grader,” Zito explained. “It is a good way for them to get to know our coaches and current players, and it also gives our coaches a chance to identify players at a young age so we can begin a relationship with our future Falcons.”

On a more technical level, these camps are a great way to improve and develop important football skills.

“We want to teach and reinforce fundamentals and techniques,” Zito said. “It introduces our youth players to a base scheme that we use here at Dacula on offense and defense.”

So what else can the youth player expect to learn?

“All players will get a chance to learn fundamentals on each side of the ball by doing drill work that is position specific each day,” coach Zito explained. “Each day they will learn some football and at the end the day they will have some fun playing speed ball.”
