Dacula Varsity Soccer Player Signs with Southern Wesleyan College

Ruva Chimedza's true determination on the soccer field has taken her to the next level.

Dacula high school varsity soccer player Ruva Chimedza recently signed to play at Southern Wesleyan College

“She is a smart, fun loving, respectful, hardworking young lady,” her mother Gertie Chimedza said. “We are so very proud of her and her accomplishments.”

Her coach and parents may describe her as laid back, but on the field it is a different story. Her true determination kicks in on the soccer field making her one of the most valuable seniors and giving her the opportunity to play at the college level.

“Ruva is a very laid back young lady with a free spirited attitude,” coach Jason Guzzardo said. “But when it comes to playing games and practices, she kind of switches off that laid back attitude and gives you true determination. She is one of those players that knows how to turn it on and off, and I think that helps her juggle the ups and downs you are given as an athlete.“

Chimedza is a center forward and is a significant goal threat according to Coach Guzzardo.

“Ruva is one of the team’s most valuable seniors,” he said proudly. “She is best at getting the ball, and helping our team get into the attacking part of the field. Her best attribute is finishing in front of the goal. Give her an opportunity in front of the goal inside of 18, and she is going to score.”
