Developing a Love for Learning Football

MCAA football head coach Scott Chastain talks about his young team.

Football is a game that you love and learn from, and this week’s Dacula Patch Team of the Week learns more about the game they love each day. Head coach Scott Chastain’s philosophy is to develop a love and appreciation for the game of football in his 9-year-old Mill Creek Athletic Association players while teaching the life lessons only this game can.

“We focus on the fundamentals of football and strive for maximum improvement in all of our players every day,” Chastain said.

Coach Chastain is very excited about the team this year. He is setting goals high, but also remembering key factors in developing the love of football.

“The most important goal is to make sure these boys improve as players and have a great time,” he said.

It is not just the players that love the game of football. Chastain recognizes that there are a lot of fans and supporters out there that are an important part of the game.

“I would like to thank our parents, cheerleaders (Tracy Williams), and everyone else involved in helping make for a successful football season,” Chastain said. “We are very blessed to live in such an active and involved community.”
