Get Ready for an Exciting Season of Dacula Basketball

Coach B.J. Roy is making big changes and putting a great team on the court.

The varsity basketball team is gearing up to play ball. Coach B.J. Roy shares how he is preparing a team that will be exciting to watch on the court this season.

After reviewing footage from last year’s 13-12 season, Coach Roy has made big changes.

“We struggled to score points, so we are trying to do things differently to give us the ability to score more,” Roy explains.  “I thought that was an area of weakness after viewing film from last year, so we have really been trying to hit that hard.”

This coach has expectations for a successful season, but he knows his team will need to concentrate on more than the offensive side of the game.

“We want to be solid both on offense and defense to try to eliminate some of the turnovers we had last year,” Roy said.

Creating a team atmosphere, playing the game hard, and playing together are also big goals for this basketball team.

“We have been focusing on doing what is best for the team and putting some of those selfish desires to the side,” Roy added.

Coach Roy’s coaching philosophy alone indicates that this is going to be an exciting year to watch basketball.

“We are going to do whatever it takes to win, and will make adjustments,” Roy said. “I think our supporters will be happy with what we are putting on the floor, and will enjoy the boys and the way we are playing the game this year.”
