Lady Hawks Lose In Final Four

The great run for the Mill Creek High School girls' basketball team came to an end Thursday night.

The girls' basketball team lost in the state championship final four playoff Thursday night at Gwinnett Arena to McEachern High School from Powder Springs.  The final score was 65-56 in favor of the Lady Indians from McEachern, but the Mill Creek girls played hard and were only down by two at the half.

The Lady Hawks got off to a great start in the game, but it was a bad third quarter that ultimately did them in.  McEachern outscored Mill Creek 19-9 in the third quarter creating a point margin that Mill Creek just couldn't overcome.

On a tough shooting night where the team only hit 34 percent from the floor, the team only had one player, Jasmine Carter, in double digits.  Carter ended the night with 16 points and two steals.  Tamarr Williams contributed nine points and five rebounds, Alicia Brookins added eight points, and Nadiya Miller chipped in seven in the losing effort.
