The Mill Creek High School varsity girls' soccer team has had a mixed week.

On Wednesday, the team advanced in the state playoffs with a win over Newnan. The bad news is the team's next game against Harrison is scheduled to take place on Saturday evening -- the same evening as prom.

Parent Wanda Hatfield told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that her daughter is devastated.

“I’ve got a senior that’s just heartbroken. She’s a starter on the team and doesn’t know whether to play or what," Hatfield said.

Attempts to reschedule the game have been unsuccessful. Harrison even declined an offer to play at Mill Creek and receive all of the gate proceeds, according to the AJC report.
