Soccer Friends Inspire Each Other to Achieve Great Goals

Tyler Chiu and Tyler Ward have accomplished amazing goals together.

Tyler Chiu and Tyler Ward are the kind of friends everyone should have; they don’t just get along, they inspire each other to achieve at the highest level. Both boys have accomplished amazing goals together.

“When we moved here from Athens, Tyler (Chiu) tried out for the team that Tyler Ward played on,” Tyler Chiu’s mom Tami Chiu said. “Tyler Ward was the first one to come over and shake Tyler’s hand, and they have been friends ever since. They have a lot in common and they both do very well in soccer.”

Some of the many accomplishments the boys have achieved together include, being chosen for USL National Soccer Camp at IMG Soccer Academy, playing first team 97 Olympic development team for the state of Georgia, and being chosen as freshmen and starting for the Mill Creek High School varsity boys' soccer team.

“They are both very strong and hard working players,” Tami Chiu said proudly. “They both like to win and do well. Athletic ability comes naturally to both of them, but they also have the work ethic behind that.”

Most recently the boys were both chosen for the Concorde Fire U16 Academy team. There are two U16 academy teams in the state, and this is the highest level for the boys to play in for their age group.

“These two boys have been working toward this since that were U8,” Tami Chiu said. “To be at this level and to be able to play on this team is something that is going to get them in the right position to go to the schools that they want to attend.”
