This Young Flag Football Player Has Big Potential

Dacula Patch Player of the Week Jacob Ulrich is fast, coordinated, and has a strong arm.

Jacob Ulrich is a young football player that shows a lot of great potential. He plays running back, receiver and quarterback for the I-9 Sports team, the Pirates. He is only seven years old, but he shows up big on game days.

“Jacob is a fast kid with a lot of coordination,” Ulrich’s coach Matt Larson said. “He learns quickly. He has good hands as a receiver and a strong arm when we ask him to throw.”

This is Ulrich’s first year playing, but he has quickly caught on to how I-9 flag football works.

“He has a great attitude, willing to do anything we ask and always wants to play,” Larson said proudly. “Jacob is a really good kid who listens, is respectful to the coaches and his team, and I am grateful that he is on the team.”

Ulrich is not only a great individual player, but he realizes that football is a team sport, and has learned to play well with his team.

“He is a very good team player and wants his team mates to do well,” Larson said. “I am very impressed with the Pirates as a whole. They have learned the basics of flag football and we are working on misdirection, which at this age helps. They have also improved with watching the ball on defense and not being caught off guard.”
