UGA a Top 10 School on Facebook, Twitter

Several SEC schools rank highly in social media popularity.

While not as sought after as a top 10 placement in the AP or Coaches Poll, social media rankings are important to schools trying to reach fans, alumni and donors.

As in football, the SEC also does well with its social media efforts with several schools placing in the top 10 in terms of Facebook likes, Twitter followers and YouTube subscribers according to rankings compiled by SoonerSports.com.

On Facebook, Florida is the top ranked SEC school and number 2 overall with more than a million likes. Alabama placed second in the SEC and fourth overall with over 700,000 likes. Other SEC schools in the Facebook top 25 include Kentucky (No. 5), Georgia (No. 9), Arkansas (No. 16), South Carolina (No. 17), LSU (No. 19) and  Tennessee (No. 20).
