Mike Korom Endorses Tommy Hunter in District 3 Race

Korom Endorses Hunter in D3.

I received this endorsement from Mike Korom on August 16, 2012.   I appreciate the confidence Mike has placed in me.  Mike, it is certainly my hope and prayer that I am able to live up to the expectations that you, the people of Gwinnett County, and myself have placed upon me.

Mike Korom's endorsement:

Dear Tommy:

I am glad to endorse you in the run-off election for Gwinnett's District 3 Commissioner.  While you and I have occasionally differed on issues, I know we share common core beliefs with respect to how this great county should be led.  We agree that the District 3 incumbent has failed to be a genuine advocate for the citizens he represents.  He has overseen the expansion of county government power.  He has endorsed reckless, wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars on boondoggle projects.  And he lectures instead of listens.  These are not the traits of a conservative leader.

Tommy, you have proven yourself to be a true man of the people.  You know Gwinnett County.  This county is in your blood.  I appreciate your passion for its future.  I believe you are the best choice for District 3 Commissioner.  You certainly have my vote.

Yours sincerely,

Mike Korom

Wow that's like saying someone who's hitting .150 thinks someone hitting .225 is a better hitter than Chipper Jones.
M.K. Osborne August 19, 2012 at 03:58 pm
That's because its time for Chipper to go .

Even if every one of Korom's 9% voted for Hunter, Beaudreau still wins in a landslide. If Hunter wins this race the losers will be the people of Gwinnett County.
M.K. Osborne August 20, 2012 at 01:33 am
We have been well trained to continue our loser role .

There is one thing we all know is Mr. Korom's voters know the truth about Bootdro! If Hunter wins this race the great folks of gwinnett county will be winners my friend. Tommy Hunter for commissioner!

Hi Gary...long time no see. Hope you are doing well.
Floyd Akridge August 20, 2012 at 02:31 am
I can't tell you how glad I am that Korom endorsed your guy. I think that's great...a guy with three ethics mishaps during this campaign and someone who said Tommy Hunter was "...more interested in his own personal well being than that of the constituents?"
J...you are VERY desperate for anything to boost your chances. If endorsements meant a darn thing Mike Beaudreau wouldn't be commissioner. Remember back in 2004, John Linder endorsed Mike's opponent in the runoff. Did it make a difference? Not even a smidge. Mike won 58-41

Yeah but like Mike B stated himself 2008 was a REALLY long, long, long time ago now...

Hmmm.
Floyd Akridge August 22, 2012 at 03:45 am
mike...I was hoping you'd have just a touch of class and fade into the sunset but apparently not. Let me put it to you bluntly then.
Your endorsement of Hunter didn't have a dang thing to do with him winning. Do you know how hard I was laughing that you endorsed him but didn't have the foresight to remove your mudslinging at hunter, including the link to the PDF of the reprimand, from your site. If anything your endorsement HELPED mike.
Mike Korom August 22, 2012 at 04:07 am
Floyd- Obviously Tommy Hunter felt it was important because he posted it. Ask him. He's our new commissioner. Congratulations Tommy!
J. Morley August 22, 2012 at 04:36 am
@Floyd I would love to read your data......... Let me know when it's ready...... Congradulations to Tommy!
Floyd Akridge August 22, 2012 at 04:37 am
Actually they missed a great opportunity. They should have refused your endorsement because of the aforementioned items. It was a great opp. to give their campaign a last minute boost in an unexpected manner.
Had the endorsement been a serious one you also would have made it before early voting was effectively over. Don't get a big head over him winning. Basically this is like you shooting a bb gun at stone mountain and taking credit for the carving. Don't get me wrong...I am disappointed that Commissioner Beaudreau did not win re-election but if it wasn't going to be him...I wanted it to be Tommy.

@Floyd
Just pull up a seat at the "hater bar" with me... The lemonade is great, or if you need something harder - it may be available as well. As to a view of other's "touch of class" at this point, it may just be time to relax and regroup. @Mike K You were there, you went in and survived it, best of luck to you in the future sir where ever it leads. (There are still plenty of things that need a "fixin", so grab a tool cart if so inclined)
J. Morley August 22, 2012 at 04:41 am
@ Mike thanks for endorsement. Whether Tommy won or lost you showed class and left it all out there for the good of county and it's people. Thats what this election was about restoring trust back to the people! Again true sign of class and Floyd I think we know who was desperate in this race. Take the goggles off!
Mike Korom August 22, 2012 at 12:55 pm
Thanks J. District 3 now has true conservative leadership.
R August 22, 2012 at 04:04 pm
Why ... It's a "Floyd for all'
"Don't get me wrong...I am disappointed that Commissioner Beaudreau did not win re-election but if it wasn't going to be him...I wanted it to be Tommy." UH Huh ... Thanks again Mike K, it appears you moved MOUNTAINS even after your exit ... Thats an example of real grace.
M.K. Osborne August 22, 2012 at 10:59 pm
The people ... not just SOME people ! It is all about the people as a whole and not so much about " the Elite wanna bees " Hopefully we can get back to serving the public and listen to the citizens without trying to sell a dirty diaper while defending that its really cotton candy . I hope to see Mr Korom again as a candidate and i appreciate him and thank him for being instrumental in the fight against the Airport sham , and getting his feet wet in Gwinnett politics ! Also.... every time Floyd hates on you ............ teacher says the Devil sharpens his pitchfork !
R August 23, 2012 at 05:27 am
"getting his feet wet in Gwinnett politics"
Especially around all those diapers, NOW there's a mental picture...
Floyd Akridge August 23, 2012 at 09:45 am
Wow J...are you the same person who continually ripped Korom during the Primary? What a hoot. The guy that showed class left his mudslinging and letter of reprimand on hi site while endorsing Hunter? Please.
This wasn't anything more than a desperate attempt to attach himself to a win in some shape or fashion. Btw...have to wear goggles at my job 10 hours a day. Can't take em off...sorry
M.K. Osborne August 23, 2012 at 11:38 pm
All puns intended !

"There are people in all levels of government office who would like nothing more than to beRead More able to conduct all the public business out of public view" The problem is, who's going to stop them? Certainly--no one from this justice department who is complicit in multiple overreaches and coverups.

I wrote this on another post but it so applies here and is worth repeating: James Madison wrote inRead More the federalist paper (no. 51) concerning the separation of powers and need for limited government , "“ It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government……” We need to have a "Madison moment"...

I remember when I opened up the news to see that Holder was going to investigate Holder. Ha! What'sRead More scary is that there are some who think that's just fine?
