Bread of Life Food Ministry Helping Those in Need

Since 1993 Bread of Life Food Ministry has been meeting needs in the Dacula and beyond.

In early 1993, Pastor Bill Barker, of New Life Fellowship Church, felt God impress upon his heart the need for the church to take a step of faith in an attempt to meet the needs of the community.  Pastor Barker asked his congregation to pray about how God would have them serve others that year.

When the congregation convened to discuss what God had laid on their hearts the direction was clear and unanimous.  They felt God was calling them to go out of their way to feed the hungry all year long and not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

At that moment was birthed.  The ministry then began to grow rapidly.  Within twelve months they went from distributing breads and baked goods on Wednesdays to offering a full range of groceries four days a week.

God so blessed the ministry that they have been able to open additional locations in Tennessee and North Georgia. The ministry also provides thousands of toys to children in need during the Christmas season.

Bread of Life Food Ministries distributes food to people in need on Monday evenings from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
