Dos Copas Holding Fundraiser for Troops

Dacula residents have lots of opportunities to serve their community. Check here each week for a new opportunity in or near our hometown.

at Hamilton Mill is holding a special event on Saturday, July 16 to show support for American troops. This will begin at 6 p.m. with live music from Void Where Prohibited, a silent auction, raffles and more. Donations will be accepted throughout the night and a $10 cover charge will begin at 10 p.m. with $5 going towards the “Pinups for Soldiers” organization.

“Pinups for Soldiers” is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2010 by Dena Stahl and Danielle Camp. Dena, president of the organization, is the wife of Sergeant Travis Stahl who returned last October from deployment to Afghanistan. Co-founder Danielle Camp also has a history of family members who have served in the military. “Pinups for Soldiers” is currently associated to three military units, one located in Iraq and two in Afghanistan. The mission of this organization is to provide care packages to American troops overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq. This group is able to support their cause by selling WWII style pin up calendars and through various fundraising efforts like the one .

Troops serving overseas receive care packages from this group which contain much needed items including the following: single serve drink mixes (Kool-Aid, Gatorade, coffee), Ramen Noodles, individually wrapped snacks, hard candies, gum, travel Kleenex, bar soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste in travel sizes, shampoo, Q-tips, sunscreen wipes, travel shaving cream, playing cards and game books. These care packages are assembled and shipped with the hopes of encouraging our troops and showing gratitude to the men and women who serve in our armed forces.
