Two years ago we adopted a seven week old puppy from a local shelter and soon realized that we had no idea what we were doing! My husband and I wanted to be good and responsible “dog parents” but didn’t have the tools/knowledge. After researching local certified trainers we decided on CCA. Starting with Puppy 101, we have taken almost every class CCA offers and learned so much about positive training and dog behavior from Cathy and Paula. They have also been a vital resource for us when dealing with some difficult behavioral issues with or newest rescue. CCA is a great place to grow and learn with your dog!

I have been training with Truth, my golden retriever, for almost two years at Canine Country Academy. Cathy and Paula are great with the dogs and the people! Each class I see Truth grow so much in obedience and I also learn much as a dog owner.
I always recommend Canine Country Academy to anyone looking for a positive training experience with their dog.
Cathy Bruce and her associates are the best! I have 2 very different dogs and they have both progressed beautifully under Cathy's tutelage. Our newest addition, Lucy, a Bull Mastiff cross, was adopted from a local rescue organization as a very large and very scared puppy. Cathy worked with us in both the Puppy 101 and C.L.A.S.S. programs and Lucy shines with confidence now. My little Dixie is a very bold and bright Shih Tzu cross. Dixie needed a job and Nose Work at CCA has given her oodles of confidence. CCA, YOU ROCK!

I have a VERY ACTIVE American Brittany. The morning after we brought him home, I took the day off of work and called Cathy of Canine Country after she was recommended by a doctor at our Pediatrician's office! I knew right away she was the trainer for us because she gave me clear and honest advice right over the phone. I signed up for Puppy 101, and lets just say, without CCA, we would have been calling the breeder and cashing in on the "return policy" I am ashamed to say. We continued to go to puppy socials that Paula would organize which have served invaluable to this day in order to help our rambunctious dog to socialize in a safe, instructive, and positive atmosphere. We continued on in Intro to Nose work, which served to satisfy a hunting dog's drive before he even started his bird hunting training. I was able to watch his body language and learn so much about him through Nose Work. I also got to know Cathy better by volunteering under her with shelter dogs as she donated her time to help save lives. Cathy and Paula practice what they preach. They treat you like family by telling you what you need to hear while at the same time encouraging you to never give up! I credit Cathy and Paula for helping our family realize that you don't give up on your dog because he is acting like a dog, but you DO have to keep working with him positively and consistently just like with a child. We now think our dog is the best dog in the world! Our happy ending started with CCA!
