I don't think they are protective enough. Walk the malls and watch as 12 and 13 year old girls areRead More standing nearby, by themselves, talking to obviously much older teen boys. Older teen boys sometimes look for younger girls as they know how naive (and eager to impress) they are. I've also worked with kids who are in trouble with drugs, and guess how they got started? You guessed it. They were offered drugs while unsupervised. Kids are not adults and don't have the skills yet to know how to deal with a situation that might come their way that they are unprepared for. Let them face those situations with you nearby. That way, if it doesn't turn out well, you're there to catch them when they fall. That's called PARENTING. =========================================== I was protective of my children and do not regret one minute of it.
