Osborne Middle School (OMS) is named for former Gwinnett County school principal and teacher Frank Newton Osborne.…More Osborne, the county's first truancy officer, is remembered for his efforts to keep area children in school and for orchestrating community support for those in need.
OMS students consistently perform well in academic assessments, according to school principal John Campbell. Currently, OMS is the top-ranked school in the state in the eighth grade writing assessment. The school also ranks in the top 10 in eighth grade math, science, and social studies; seventh grade math, and social studies; and sixth grade science and social studies, as determined by CRCT scores.
The Osborne Middle School mascot is the hawk. The school colors are cardinal, gold and navy.
