The recent bus crash involving our own hometown students raises the question.
The recent bus accident involving our hometown Mill Creek High School students brings forward a pressing question for all of us. Should buses, charter or school, be required to provide passengers safety belts? Seventeen students were injured in Sunday's charter bus crash and one was life-flighted to a Macon hospital after being ejected from the bus through a window. Fortunately for all of us here in Dacula, the crash involving our students did not result in any fatalities but others across the country have not been so lucky. GSP expects report to be available later this week. Mill Creek principal says field trip protocols to be updated.
The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating an April 10 bus accident that injured 20 people, including 17 Mill Creek High School students. GSP spokesman Gordy Wright expects the report to be available later this week. A total of 52 people, including 47 Mill Creek students, were on the bus at the time of the accident. The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday on I-75 northbound near mile marker 116 in Dooly County as the students were returning from a chorus group competition at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Wright said a rear end collision occurred in the left lane of travel ahead of the bus. One of the vehicles from that accident was pushed into the path of the tour bus. UPDATED April 11 at 3:15 p.m.: Two Mill Creek High School students injured in an April 10 charter bus accident remain hospitalized according to Gwinnett County Schools spokesman Jorge Quintana. Quintana said initial reports indicated all 17 students had been released from the hospital. School officials learned today that two of the students, including one student who was ejected from the bus and air-flighted to Macon Medical, are still being treated for their injuries. A total of 20 people were transported to Macon area hospitals as a result of the accident. Latabia , your right Dr Markham did a good job under the circumstances . I have worked at Mill Creek for 3 years an Dr Markham is the best principal i have worked for .
