Masked Man Robs Hamilton Mill Road Chevron

Armed suspect flees with approximately $4,500 in cash.

Gwinnett County Police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Chevron, located at 2800 Hamilton Mill Road, on Oct. 26. According to police, the clerk was in the process of closing the store for the night when a masked man armed with a semi-automatic pistol entered the business. The suspect demanded that the clerk empty the register and place the contents in a Publix shopping bag. After the clerk complied, the suspect reportedly ordered him to lift the drawer to verify no money remained in the register. After the suspect fled the business on foot, the clerk called 911. Officers set up a perimeter and called in K-9 and air support, but were unable to locate the robber. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-9, …

Lottery Jackpot Tops $330 Million

Some local retailers report increased sales, others say the economy is keeping players home.

Some lucky person could become a multimillionaire tonight if they match all six numbers in the Mega Millions lottery drawing. Tonight's jackpot has an estimated value of $330 million. Dacula Patch visited some local retailers to find out what effect the massive prize is having on lottery sales. UPDATE JAN. 4 AT 2P.M.: The Mega Millions jackpot is now $355 million.
