It's good. A little too good.
As my father-in-law would say, this recipe will "shrink your jeans." The main ingredients are biscuits, butter and sugar -- health food, it isn't. That said, if you have a little room to spare in your britches, you will certainly enjoy lemon monkey bread. The recipe only has four ingredients, it is quick to make and it is almost irresistibly tasty. I found a version of this on Pinterest, but couldn't find the dinner rolls specified in the recipe. Being from the South, biscuits seemed like a perfectly suitable alternative, so I went with that. I'm going to call that decision a win. Try it and let me know what you think. Ingredients: 1 12-ounce can of biscuits 1/2 cup granulated sugar 3 tbsp. butter, melted 1 tbsp. lemon zest Directions: …

Try Polynesian-style ribs and enjoy a change from standard barbecue pork.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a plate of regular barbecue ribs, but, if you want to try something a little different, Polynesian-style ribs may be just the thing. These ribs cook in a crock pot. If you like preparing your ribs another way, go right ahead and just toss them in the Polynesian sauce. I don't normally cook ribs in the crock pot, but this worked out pretty well. I think this sauce would also be good on a pork roast (those I do cook in the crock pot). So, fire up the Tiki torches, mix up a Mai Tai and enjoy a mini luau this weekend with Polynesian-style ribs. Ingredients: 2 pounds boneless, country-style pork ribs 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1 small onion, chopped 1 6-ounce can of pineapple juice 1 8-ounce can of crushed …

Looking for something sweet to top off a spicy meal? Try these apple enchiladas for a delicious way to end a meal.
Just polished off a heaping plate of hot and spicy nachos and need something sweet to finish the meal? Try apple enchiladas. This recipe takes only minutes to make, is slightly better for you than apple pie and just as delicious. I first tried this recipe after seeing it in a March 1999 edition of Southern Living. Now, 13 years later, I still make this at least once a month. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Ingredients: 1 21-ounce can of apple pie filling 6 8-inch tortillas (I use four 10-inch tortillas) 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 c. butter or margarine (this can be omitted if you are watching calories/fat - the recipe works fine without it) 1/2 c. regular sugar 1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar (I prefer dark brown sugar…

Based on the chicken wing cupcake that was a Super Bowl hit, this dish is boneless so that you can pop the whole weirdly good treat in your mouth.
In the week leading up to the Super Bowl, an Albany bakery made national news with its chicken wing cupcake. The cupcake was made of a buttery cornbread base, covered with blue cheese frosting and topped with a chicken wing. I thought it looked weird but interesting, so I decided to make my own version. I didn't like the idea of having to pull the chicken wing off the cupcake to eat it, so I went with boneless buffalo chicken tenders instead. You will need: 12 corn muffins (I used this Southern Cornbread recipe and reduced the baking time to 18-20 minutes, but you can use a mix if you prefer) Boneless buffalo chicken tenders (I used Tyson brand) Blue cheese frosting Ingredients for blue cheese frosting: 8 ounces of cream cheese softened 3…
