This Friday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. it's date night for you and your someone special. No babysitters, no problem!
Let’s take a second and review the “Great Escapes” we have covered for the month of March. The first one was for you and your girlfriends, hanging out and showing your artistic side at Magnolia’s in Lawrenceville. The second was a great family day geocaching, no pressures from everyday life while you are searching for treasures in the great outdoors. Then last week I gave you a suggestion on how to escape for 15 minutes all by yourself with no real planning. So what is for this week you may be asking - it’s easy too. How about a night with that someone special or, if you’d rather, a night all to yourself? No babysitters planned, no problem, you don’t need it this week. The “Great Escape” for this week is from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m. on…

This restaurant is located at 1825 Mall of Georgia Boulevard in Buford and is in the last shopping strip on the left before you reach the red light at Hwy. 20. Genghis Grill specializes in Mongolian stir fry in a build your own bowl, but we will get back to that part in a moment. You can watch as the cooks at this restaurant grill up your order Asian style. Genghis Grill is an open restaurant with booth and table seating. They can accommodate parties of all sizes and offer comfortable waiting areas for busier times. Now that you know what the restaurant is like, you need to…

This is a nice weeknight or weekend dinner for the family.
Here’s an easy weeknight dinner you might enjoy. This is a pretty easy fix that you can make anytime during the day and hold in the fridge until you are ready to cook your meal. Here’s a great tidbit for you too, when making a casserole of any kind, make an extra one and freeze it. Just cook and enjoy within 2 months. Italian Chicken Roll-Ups Boneless skinless chicken breast halves Thinly sliced deli ham Sliced Provolone cheese 2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese ¼ cup minced parsley ½ cup milk Flatten chicken to ¼” thickness. Place a slice of ham and half slice of cheese on each piece of chicken. Roll up from a short side and tuck in ends. Secure with a toothpick or two. In a shallow bowl, combine crumbs, …

A "Momma Said" story is about something my mother tells me (usually something she doesn't intend for me to repeat) and then I repeat it over and over saying, "Well, Momma said ..." These stories typically lead to lots of squirming on my part, but here is one I don't think she would mind me repeating: Momma said that if you eat the right dishes on New Year's Day you will prosper financially in the New Year. Now I don't know about everyone else, but, with the economy in its current state and after my most recent expenditures at the Toys R Us, I plan on doing exactly what Momma says. If you would like lots of dollars and cents in the New Year, take a look at …
