Kirby Wins Georgia House District 107
Taking 52 percent of the vote, Tom Kirby of Loganville will be headed to the Georgia Capitol to take the seat of former House Rep. Len Walker.
When the final vote eventually came in after 11:30 p.m. on Super Tuesday, it was Tom Kirby of Loganville who secured enough votes to win the Georgia House District 107 Special Election. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Kirby has won the Special Election in a runoff against newcomer Paul Smith. Kirby will fill the unexpired term of former Rep. Len Walker who resigned to take a full time ministerial position. According to the Secretary of State website, Kirby took 1,424 of the 2,604 votes cast in Walton County and 2,060 of the 4,094 cast in Gwinnett County for a total of 3,484 of the 6,698 cast or 52 percent of the vote.
