Officer Stops Driver for Littering, Finds Contents of Stolen Packages in Car

Three arrested after stolen cancer medications, shoes and Barbie dolls located. A package of “Doom,” suspected to be synthetic marijuana, also found.

An officer trying to get to the bottom of a littering incident uncovered more than just a crime against the environment. On Jan. 10, a Gwinnett County Police officer on patrol in the area of Clack Road and Mineral Springs Road noticed the driver of a black Mercedes pull into a driveway and throw a large white object out the window. The driver, later identified as Tyler Vreeland, 19, of Buford, began to drive away but was pulled over by the officer. “I approached the driver’s door and asked [Vreeland] what the littering was all about and he said that he was just trying to get rid of some of the trash in his vehicle,” the officer wrote in the report.
