Learn More About New Hospital to Be Located Near Dacula

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) plans to build a 100-bed facility adjacent to the existing River Place Medical Plaza 1 on Thompson Mill Road.

Representatives from Northeast Georgia Health System will be available Thursday evening, May 2, to discuss the new 100-bed hospital facility being built near Dacula on Thompson Mill Road. The meeting, which will include a construction update and provide attendees with the opportunity to see new architectural renderings, will begin at 6 p.m. at the Braselton Stover House, located at 5257 Hwy. 53 in Braselton, Ga.  The new hospital will include an emergency department, diagnostic services and more. Construction of the facility is underway with a target completion date of spring 2015. NGMC Braselton is expected to create 500 new jobs in the area. New Hospital to Create 500 Local Jobs

Northeast Georgia Health System’s planned 100-bed hospital expected to have significant impact on local economy.

A new hospital just minutes away from Dacula is expected to bring not only high quality medical services to the area, but also jobs. Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) plans to build a 100-bed facility adjacent to the existing River Place Medical Plaza 1 on Thompson Mill Road. The hospital will include an emergency department, diagnostic services and more. Construction on the new hospital is expected to begin in early 2013 with a target completion date of spring 2015. NGMC Prepared to Succeed Under New Health Care Reform Laws

Northeast Georgia Medical Center honored as HealthStrong Top 100 hospital. The honor was based on an index that uses 56 measures of performance to identify the hospitals best prepared for success under the new health reform laws.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) recently received several awards as a result of the facility’s Hospital Strength Index. NGMC was honored as one of the HealthStrong Top 100 hospitals in the nation and was also awarded Best in Strength, Best in Region and Best in State. The Hospital Strength Index compares U.S. hospitals in a variety of categories including financial, value-based and market-driven performance indicators. The index is designed to provide hospitals with a performance rating as mandates of the 2010 Affordable Care Act are implemented. NGMC Offering Clinical Trials for Pancreatic Cancer Patients

Hospital seeking local patients for study of promising cancer therapy.

Patients with previously untreated Stage Iv pancreatic cancer may be eligible for a new clinical trial. The Cancer Center at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is one of only five sites in Georgia participating in the trial. According to a NGMC press release, pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer–related deaths in the United States in both men and women.   “We are excited to offer this new clinical trial for pancreatic patients,” said NGMC oncology research and tumor registry manager Patti Rotunda in a released statement.  “We are hopeful that clinical trials such as this one will provide us with new treatment options that are so desperately needed, especially for patients in such advanced stages of diagnosis.” …

NGMC to Hold Forum at Dacula Church

Northeast Georgia Medical Center invites community to learn more about development plans for a new hospital campus nearby.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) will hold a community forum at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church on Thursday, Jan. 26. The purpose of the forum is to allow area residents to learn more about NGMC’s plans for a new hospital campus located on Thompson Mill Road just a few miles away from Dacula. “The support from the greater Braselton community was instrumental in our ability to obtain a Certificate of Need from the State for Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton,” said Tracy Vardeman, VP of Strategic Planning and Marketing for Northeast Georgia Health System in a released statement, “and our commitment throughout this process has been to give them the opportunity to provide input into the development of the River Place …
