SEC Football Television Schedule: Nov. 17

Tennessee to try again for first SEC win of the season against Vanderbilt.

It’s a tough year to be a Volunteer fan. Just when it looked as if Tennessee (4-6, 0-6) would get its first SEC win of the season last week against Missouri, the Tigers fought back and put the Volunteers through four excruciating overtime periods before delivering the coup de grâce in the form of a field goal. Tennessee is now down to just two more chances to avoid an SEC shut out for the season -- Vanderbilt (6-4, 4-3) on Nov. 17 and equally SEC-winless Kentucky (1-9, 0-7) on Nov. 24. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.  Other SEC games to be televised Nov. 17 include (All times are ET):  You might also be interested in reading: You might also be interested in reading:

SEC Football Television Schedule: Nov. 10

The top-ranked Crimson Tide hosts Johnny Football and the Texas A&M Aggies.

If things go well, the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide will clinch the SEC West this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The only thing standing in their way is No. 15 Texas A&M. Lead by freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, the Aggies bring an offense to town that has averaged 44 points a game. However, that explosive offense may stutter against an Alabama defense that is ranked first in the nation. Alabama is a two-touchdown favorite heading into the game. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS. Other SEC games to be televised Nov. 10 include (All times are ET):  Idle: Kentucky  You might also be interested in reading:

SEC Football Television Schedule: Nov. 3

The top-ranked Crimson Tide rolls into Baton Rouge to take on No. 5 LSU in a rematch of last year’s national championship game.

No. 1 Alabama rolls into Baton Rouge this Saturday with a perfect record, No. 5 LSU lost to Florida on Oct. 6.  The regular season slugfest that was last year’s LSU-Alabama game did not even resemble the 2012 national championship game rematch. The Tide shutout the Tigers and the Tigers are now looking for redemption. The outcome of Saturday’s game between these two SEC West rivals will decide who goes to the SEC championship and will likely determine if Alabama will once again battle for the crystal football in January. Bama is a nine-point favorite heading into the game. The game will be televised on CBS. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.  Other SEC games to be televised Nov. 3 include (All times are ET):  *Listed rankings according to BCS.  …

College Football Scores: SEC Week 7

Tide rolls, Rebels end 16-game SEC losing streak and LSU tops Gamecocks.

No. 1 Alabama (6-0) came out a little sluggish after a 38-minute rain delay, but still managed to give Missouri all it could handle and then some. According to the Bleacher Report, “The Tigers didn’t even stand a chance and the final 42-10 score isn’t indicative of how lopsided the Crimson Tide’s victory really was.”  Missouri (3-4) remains winless in the SEC and will have next week off before hosting Kentucky. Missouri is not alone in SEC woes. Tennessee (3-3) is also winless in the SEC and will likely remain so next week when the Alabama juggernaut rolls into Neyland Stadium. No. 9 LSU 23, No. 3 South Carolina 21 Steve Spurrier was not going down without a fight. The old ball coach pushed to the very last minute, but his Gamecocks (6-1) …

College Football Scores: SEC Week 6

LSU falls to Florida, South Carolina crushes Georgia and Arkansas tops Auburn.

Not one, not two, but three top five teams fell Saturday and two of them were in the SEC. Bulldogs fans remain in mourning today after their hopes of an SEC championship were soundly and thoroughly crushed by the Old Ball Coach and his Gamecocks. No. 5 Georgia was never even in the game as No. 6 South Carolina jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. “On paper, both teams were evenly matched with the oddsmakers making the game a virtual pick 'em,” SB Nation College News reported. “But it was pandemonium at Williams-Brice as the two teams kicked off, and South Carolina instantly responded with a huge first quarter that would decide the game.” The Bulldogs only narrowly avoided a shutout, finally managing to …

Wow! You're assuming LSU can score touchdowns. More like South Carolina 35, LSU 9. Otherwise, not bad guesses, Mitch.   more ›

Patch Talks Trash About Georgia Vs. South Carolina

Patch editors Chris Winston in South Carolina and Steve Burns in Georgia talk a little smack about which team will win Saturday's big SEC football game.

There may not be anything more important this weekend in Georgia and South Carolina than what’s fixin’ to take place Saturday in Columbia. When the Gamecocks and Bulldogs square off in Williams-Brice Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m. (ESPN) in the biggest SEC football matchup of the season. It may be the biggest game in series history. Both are 5-0 overall, 3-0 in the SEC. Both have national championship aspirations. And both have rabid fan bases that are not afraid to talk a little trash. Patch, which has 59 websites serving local communities in the two states, decided it wants to weigh in on the big game. Patch staffers Chris Winston of South Carolina and Steve Burns of Georgia offer up their own trash talk on the rivalry and the big game, and …

College Football Scores: SEC Week 5

Georgia and South Carolina continue to battle for the SEC East, Alabama continues to dominate the SEC West and Arkansas’ woes continue.

Once again, the Tennessee Volunteers (3-2) managed to make things a bit uncomfortable for the Dawgs (5-0). However, No. 5 Georgia managed to pull off the 51-44 win with offensive play The Bleacher Report described as “stunning.” Quarterback Aaron Murray completed 18 of 24 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns and, according to The Bleacher Report, “the Bulldogs defense was able to come up with just enough stops.” “This was an incredible game to watch. Tennessee refused to go away, but they were stuck behind the eight ball far too often. In the end, they couldn't make enough crucial plays, on either side of the ball, to get the job done,” the article stated. Next week, the battle for the SEC East will come to a head as Georgia travels to …

College Football Scores: SEC Week 4

Auburn Tigers give LSU a scare, Arkansas drops another game and Dawgs dominate Vanderbilt.

It was not supposed to be a close game, but it was. The beleaguered Auburn Tigers gave No. 2 ranked LSU a scare on Saturday. Auburn, a 20-point underdog, led at half time and maintained the lead until near the end of the third quarter when LSU went up 12-10 after a field goal. With time running out in the game, Auburn got the ball back and tried to move within field goal range for the winning score, but the LSU defense stiffened and preserved the Tigers’ scant two-point lead. Glenn Guilbeau of USA Today wrote, “The Tigers, sloppy on offense and drawing personal fouls throughout the night, scored all of three points over the final three quarters, but they held up for a nervous victory against inspired Auburn in the Southeastern Conference …

RTR! Bring on the SEC! I still have South Carolina as my pick to win the East. The only rough game they have is on the road @ LSU. Otherwise, Georgia and Tennessee are home games and Florida...well, that's a toss up for any given Saturday. I think the real success of the SEC will be the total number of teams we have in bowl games this year. It would be great to have 10 in this year.   more ›
