It was for a man recently arrested in a Loganville Walmart.
You're out shopping -- wearing some new jeans you bought at another store and forgot to remove the tag from. A store employee gets suspicious, and police ask you to step into the loss-prevention office so they can check out your pants to make sure you're not shoplifting them. You're not shoplifting, so you say no, you can't check out my pants. And out come the handcuffs. The charge for not cooperating, you're warned, is disorderly conduct. What do you do? A Loganville man recently opted for the disorderly conduct charge rather than agree to take his tag-on jeans to the loss-prevention office. A Buford man was arrested on a shoplifting charge after a loss prevention officer saw him attempt to leave the Sardis Church Road Walmart with several items of merchandise on Dec. 14. The loss prevention officer told police the suspect, identified as Felton Montgomery, 21, of Buford, had picked up a backpack, put it on and then walked out of the store while also carrying a drink and chicken wings. When the loss prevention officer confronted Montgomery, he discovered a game controller adapter and three air fresheners in Montgomery’s pockets. Montgomery reportedly admitted stealing those items as well. The total amount of the merchandise taken was $38.97. Montgomery was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail. A Sugar Hill woman is facing numerous charges after allegedly shooting a store manager with a pellet gun during a shoplifting attempt. Police were called to the Hamilton Mill Walmart on June 18 after a woman, later identified as Catherine Sheridan, 24, of 5235 Sugar Crest Drive in Sugar Hill, reportedly withdrew a pellet gun from her fanny pack and began shooting after being stopped on her way out of the store. The victim said he and another manager stopped Sheridan after seeing her pick up three pairs of pants, a pair of sneakers and a bottle of water before heading towards the store exit. The victim and the other manager stopped Sheridan and asked for her receipt. Sheridan was unable to produce one and said she had asked the cashier to …
