Two Dacula brothers called police after five males allegedly came into their home and stole their property. The brothers, ages 17 and 13, told police a male acquaintance arrived at their Wilkes Crest Drive home on Feb. 17 accompanied by four other males. The brothers allowed only the male they knew to enter the home, but according to the teen's account, the other males entered the residence without their permission. The five males stayed at the house for approximately an hour before leaving. The brothers said one of the males left with three of their video games. Two suspects attempted, but failed to steal money out of a machine at a Braselton Highway car wash.

The owner of the Super Car Wash, located near the intersection of Gravel Springs Road and Braselton Highway, estimates it will cost $3,000 to replace the machine damaged during a Dec. 30 theft attempt. The owner contacted Gwinnett County Police after discovering the damage and reviewing surveillance video of the incident. According to the police report, a silver Toyota minivan pulled up next to the vacuum around 10 p.m. on Dec. 30. One male exited the vehicle and appeared to stand watch while the other male attempted to pry open the front door of the machine. An argument over missing cigarettes escalated into a holiday trip to jail for two Dacula residents and a Winder man. Police were called to an Ashton Briar Court residence on Dec. 23 where they encountered Weston Davis, 19, of Winder, along with Jeshua Massey, 20, and Kaylee Majka, 19, both of Dacula. Davis informed one of the officers that he believed Massey had stolen some of his cigarettes a few days ago. Davis admitted he had no proof Massey stole them, but “was upset by the mere suspicion Massey stole them,” according to the police report. In retaliation for the suspected theft, Davis took Massey’s guitar on the night of Dec. 22 and put it in his Volkswagen Jetta. Davis informed the officer he took the guitar without Massey’s …

For the second time in less than a month, a truck used by a security company to patrol the Hamilton Mill subdivision clubhouse and pool areas has been vandalized. On Dec. 10, an employee of the security company contacted Gwinnett County Police after discovering all four tires on the security vehicle had been slashed. The vehicle, which had been parked at the Hamilton Mill clubhouse, was damaged at some point between 10 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 10. The property of at least three Hamilton Mill residents was damaged on Dec. 2 when a vandal or vandals armed with a pellet gun made a pass through the Hillgrove section of the Dacula subdivision. Police were called to a home in the 3100 block of Hillgrove Terrace after the residents discovered someone had shot a hole in a second floor window of the home with a bb or pellet gun. One of the residents told police she was awakened by a loud crack sometime between 5 and 5:30 a.m., but did not get out of bed to investigate the noise. Two other incidents of vandalism were also reported during the same time period in Hillgrove. According to Gwinnett County Police public information officer Cpl. Gwinnett County Police are investigating an Oct. 6 act of vandalism in Hamilton Mill, which, according to the police report, the homeowner believes may have been racially motivated. Police were called to the 3700 block of Millwater Crossing after a homeowner discovered a swastika and the letters “KKK” had been spray-painted on her driveway with green spray paint. The initials “JK” had also been painted on the driveway. The woman, who is African-American, reportedly told the officer she believed her family had been targeted because of their race. An act of vandalism proved to be a very costly one for a homebuilder in The Grove at Hamilton Mill. During the overnight hours of July 9, a vandal or vandals entered a home on Trinity Mill Drive and “flooded” the home. In the Gwinnett County Police incident report, the officer noted the upstairs faucets had been turned on and left running for several hours causing water to overflow the sinks and flood the upstairs living space. The water then seeped through the ceiling to the first floor. By the time the officer was called to the home, there was approximately an inch of standing water in the first floor of the home and the backyard was also soaked.
