Police Find Cocaine, Marijuana Hidden in Paint Can

Drugs found during traffic stop on I-85 near Hamilton Mill Road.

A Toccoa, Ga. man is facing two felony charges after a Gwinnett County Police officer found large amounts of cocaine and marijuana concealed in his vehicle during a May 9 traffic stop on I-85. While patrolling I-85 northbound near mile marker 118, the officer noticed a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis drift out of its lane of travel. The officer pulled the car over near the Hamilton Mill Road exit and, during his conversation with the driver, Oscila Tabor, "obtained reasonable suspicion that he was involved in criminal activity." The officer asked for and received consent to search the vehicle. Man Tells Cop He Was Going to Sell Crack Cocaine to Raise Some Cash

Arrestee also said he was trying to “turn his life around” and wanted to be able to buy Christmas presents for his child.

A North Carolina man devised a rather questionable way to raise a little extra cash for the holidays. According to police, Mark Hall, 22, of Reidsville, N.C., had crack cocaine in his possession when the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over on Nov. 24. A Gwinnett County Police officer spotted the vehicle, a  Dodge Caravan, make a lane change without signaling and then noticed the van was following within one to two car lengths of another vehicle on I-85 southbound just north of Hamilton Mill Road. The officer activated his lights, but the driver, later identified as Carlos Clark, 23, of Eden. N.C., did not pull over. Cops Find Drugs in Pants, Counterfeit Goods in Car

Police seized $10,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise, 112 grams of cocaine and several hundred dollars as a result of a July 31 traffic stop on I-85 northbound near Hamilton Mill Road. A Gwinnett County Police officer stopped a white Chevrolet Malibu driven by Bradley Dendy, 22, of Greenwood, S.C., for following too closely after noticing the vehicle was traveling within a car length of an 18-wheeler. According to the officer’s report, Dendy appeared “overly nervous” and his passenger, Fred Bennett, 26, of Greenville, S.C., refused to make eye contact. The officer asked Dendy to exit the vehicle in order for the officer to issue him a citation for the traffic violation. While speaking with the officer, Dendy said he and Bennett had …
