Officer Stops to Investigate Parked Car, Arrests Occupants

Couple arrested on charges of underage consumption. Teen also cited for possession of marijuana.

An early morning patrol in the area of Old Freeman’s Road near Mobley Drive led an officer to the scene of some unlawful behavior. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the officer spotted a Ford truck parked alongside Old Freeman's Mill Road while checking the area shortly after 3 a.m. on Jan. 6. All of the lights on the vehicle were off, but, as the officer approached, two occupants raised their heads “as if they had been lying down on the seat.” The officer noted that the male driver’s pants had been partially removed. “I immediately smelled what I thought was an alcoholic beverage and asked what the two were doing,” the officer wrote in the report. Fight at Mill Creek vs. Dacula Game Leads to Underage Drinking Arrest

Police called after school resource officer broke up fight and determined student had been drinking.

A fight at the Aug. 31 Mill Creek versus Dacula football game led to the arrest of a Buford teen on a charge of underage consumption of alcohol. Gwinnett County Police were called to the Mill Creek High School stadium after a school administrator broke up a fight between Shamiek Johnson, 17, and another high school student. The school resource officer also responded to the scene and, after noticing an odor of alcoholic beverage on Johnson’s breath, used an alco sensor to determine if the teen, who is listed in the police report as a MCHS student, had been drinking. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the alco sensor reading was .096. The GCPD officer placed Johnson under arrest for underage consumption of alcohol. While enroute…
